About this Facility

Carin Park is nicely situated in the South West of Victoria in the Shire of Southern Grampians, 3km's south of Hamilton. We are 1 hour from Warrnambool, Horsham, Ararat, Portland and 1 hr 20 minutes from Mt Gambier, Penola and Naracoorte, as well as a leisurely drive to the Coonawarra Wine Region.

The main objective of this facility is to provide a Professional Boutique spelling farm where your horse will receive the very best of quality attention.

Carin Park is very fortunate to now have AT STUD "CURATA STORM".

'Frenchy' as he is known came to us in August.  A GROUP 1 Winning boy, he is a valuable asset to this establishment.  Please visit his web site for more information about him at

www.curatastorm.com.au

We also have on our doorstep 2 other well known Thoroughbred studs, being Tolka and Claremont Studs.  Standing stallions at these studs at present are     'GREEN PERFUME, MUSEE D'ORSAY, SURESH, KINGSTON MILL AND ROHATYN. Further down the road we have 'Carinya Stud' which has Lycryma Cristi stand and at Glenormiston they have Damascus Storm, Talings(USA) and now Mookta.  We offer a mare walk-ons to these studs at no cost but a fee for stallions further a field.

We have many years combined experience in the horse industry and aim to giving the very best of care and attention to your valuable investment.  We have gone to great lengths and spared no expense when we decided to set up this facility.  We searched for many months to find the safest fencing that was available and from past experience with fence injuries we have tried to eliminate all possible problems within a paddock situation. We only use 'ELECTROBRAID' for our fences in conjunction with white sighter posts so a total visual barrier has been created.  All our fencing stands at over 5ft and we have horse safe gates on all entrance and let down paddocks.  All paddock shelters are lined with 19mm stable lining so if kicked no injury will occur.

We have no wire, mesh, steel posts, timber rails, electric stand outs, unlined sheds or dams in any of our paddocks. Past experience has taught us that these can cause horrific injuries to horses.

Our spelling paddocks of 3 acres each are mainly set up for individuals so the best care and attention can be given to the speller.  We have just completed group paddocks of around 10 to 20 acres where mares and yearlings can socialize happily.

We have 440 acres of rich volcanic soil sown down to species of grass that are very suitable for horses to feed upon and all pastures are rotationally grazed and cross grazed with cattle to eliminate parasites.

We are only newly established but due to overwhelming support from many owners and trainers we are expanding again only after 6 months since we opened.  We recently put in a further 10 paddocks, 2 km's of all weather roads (suitable for any size horse transport for pickups and drop offs at the paddock gate) and now completed a stable complex including mare crush and breaking facilities as well as sand stalls. Yearling preparation is also available.

We believe that when our next stage, which is any day now, is complete we will have a second to none facility that is modern and very functional.
