BLUES & JAZZ
Every Tuesday evening on 106.9 UGFM you can tune in to the best of blues and jazz on Blues on Tuesday, presented by Keith Fletcher.
Each week hear a great selection and variety of the best in blues and jazz from the twenties to the nineties!
Blues from the beginnings deep in the Mississippi delta, down near that legendary crossroads. Blues from the electrified sounds of Chicago. Blues from the British explosion of the sixties. Blues from Africa and Australia. Black blues and white blues, acoustic blues and electric blues, wailing harmonica and smooth piano blues. Rocking blues and blues that go rolling and tumbling. Hear everyone from Robert Johnson to Eric Clapton, Leadbelly to Hendrix, Bessie Smith to Janis Joplin, John Lee Hooker to Stevie Ray Vaughan and lots lots more!
Not forgetting jazz, from the early days of New Orleans through the big band swing era of the thirties and forties to the experimentation of today.
The usual program includes:
6pm to 7pm:
blues, blues and more blues!
7pm to 7.30pm:
jazz
7.30pm: Before
and After - a song from the early days revisited many years later
Until 8pm: Yes,
it's more blues!
Hope you can join me each Tuesday evening. Feel free to e-mail me on kwfletch@mcmedia.com.au with comments and suggestions. And, as always, may your blues be good blues!
Cheers, Keith Fletcher
