The
Yea area offers many and varied attractions, places to see and
things to do.
One
attraction to many is do nothing, just laze away, catch up on some
well deserved rest and take in the views of peaceful surroundings.
NATURAL
attractions abound, since the area between Yea and Toolangi
features both the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve and Wilhelmina Falls.
Murrindindi
River Walk extends the length of the reserve, a distance of 13
Km.It is clearly signposted and is accessible from most of the
picnic and camping areas. Fit and energetic walkers could complete
the return trip in a day.
Murrindindi
Cascades are on the river near the southern end of the reserve. A
narrow stepped track leads from the Cascades carpark and picnic
area, down to a series of footbridges across the river at the base
of the Cascades. They are a spectacular sight during the wetter
months when the water surges over granite boulders. Ferns, mosses,
and cool temperature rainforest species such as myrtle, beech and
sassafras camn be found here. |
